Led by Professor Michael Dove, the Dove Lab at Yale School of the Environment is dedicated to fostering research in environmental anthropology. Our research covers a wide range of topics, including natural resource management, property rights, power struggles, household energy transitions, human-wildlife interactions and others. Our current and former doctoral students’ diverse dissertation topics showcase our commitment to understanding the intricate bond between humans and environment.
The lab’s influence extends beyond academia, contributing to policy, practice, and social change, with our students and alumni making impactful contributions in these areas. Together, we strive to deepen our understanding of the relationship between humanity and the environment, and tackle pressing environmental challenges for a sustainable future.
