Shoko Yamada is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Anthropology and the School of the Environment at Yale University. She is currently writing her dissertation on the politics and ethics of repair after environmental injuries, focusing on the watershed of a river in northcentral Japan. Her commitment to interdisciplinary engagement builds on previous experience working in circular economy and a microbiology lab.
